Moonrise Kingdom continues director Wes Anderson's cinematic formula, except at this point I believe Wes may have finally perfected it. The movie tells the story of two troubled youths who run away from home together in the name of love. Of course they don't get terribly far considering they live on a small island. Those of you familiar with Wes Anderson's previous films know what to expect. Several actors who have appeared for the director show up here again, along with a few new and interesting faces. Bruce Willis plays the local island sheriff, a simpleton in both intellect and outlook on life, and he's only one of many caricatures inhabiting the island. If you've been a fan in the past check it out, there are plenty of laughs, excellent cinematography, and a story that would only make sense in a world created by Wes. I'm expecting several awards season nominations for this one.
+ Solid performances by the two young leads.
+ Cinematography
+ Script
